Body powder has a reputation problem. For most people, it brings to mind one of two things: a baby powder bottle from childhood, or a medicated drugstore formula meant to treat itch and irritation. Neither one was ever built with an adult, everyday, all-day-comfort experience in mind.

Not Medicated
Most powders that actually perform well are built around medicated relief — menthol, anti-itch ingredients, a clinical purpose. That's a legitimate category, but it's built to treat a problem after it shows up, not prevent it in the first place.

Not Talc
Talc has been the industry default for over a century, but it's also raised real safety questions, even in its "asbestos-free" forms. Soft Melt's formula is built entirely without it — arrowroot, kaolin clay, magnesium hydroxide, and zinc oxide do the job instead, without the same risk profile.
Not Chalky
A lot of talc-free alternatives lean on cornstarch alone, which can feel heavier and slightly chalky on skin. Soft Melt goes further, adding silk powder and silica — the two most expensive ingredients in the formula — purely to create a silky, "cloud skin finish" texture. That's a cost we took on after performance was already achieved, just to make sure the feel matched the quality of everything else.
Not One-Size-Fits-All
Soft Melt isn't built around a single generic formula. Different experiences are designed for different needs — daytime heat, internal heat and night sweats, special occasions, and sensitive, fragrance-free skin. Not all heat is the same, so the solution shouldn't be either.
